തെക്കേ ചൈനയിലെ ഗുആങ്ഡോങ് പ്രവിശ്യയില് കനത്ത മഴയെ തുടര്ന്ന് ഹൈവെയുടെ ഒരു ഭാഗം ഒലിച്ചുപോയി. ബുധനാഴ്ച പുലര്ച്ചെയുണ്ടായ അപകടത്തില് കാറുകള് തകര്ന്ന് 36-ഓളം പേര് മരിച്ചതായി അധികൃതര് പറഞ്ഞു. 30 പേര്ക്ക് പരിക്കുകളുണ്ട്.
ഹൈവേയുടെ ഒരു ഭാഗം ഇടിഞ്ഞുതാഴ്ന്ന നിലയിലായിരുന്നു. ഹൈവേയുടെ 17.9 മീറ്ററാണ് തകര്ന്നത്. അപകടത്തെത്തുടര്ന്ന് ആഴത്തിലുള്ള കുഴിയിലേക്ക് പതിച്ച 23 വാഹനങ്ങള് കണ്ടെത്തിയതായി മെയ്സൊ സിറ്റി സര്ക്കാര് അറിയിച്ചു.

കഴിഞ്ഞ രണ്ടാഴ്ച്ചയായി ഗുആങ്ഡോങ് പ്രവിശ്യയുടെ പല ഭാഗത്തും കന്നത്ത മഴയും വെള്ളപ്പൊക്കവുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ശക്തമായ മഴ പ്രവിശ്യയിലെ രണ്ട് നഗരങ്ങളെ സാരമായി ബാധിച്ചു. 110,000 പേരെ മാറ്റിപ്പാര്പ്പിച്ചതായി പ്രാദേശിക സര്ക്കാര് പറയുന്നു. പ്രളയത്തില് നാലു പേര്ക്ക് ജീവന് നഷ്ടമായി. 10 പേരെ കാണാതായതായും പ്രാദേശിക മാധ്യമങ്ങള് റിപ്പോട്ട് ചെയ്തു.
