അടിയന്തരാവസ്ഥക്കാലത്ത് താന് ഒളിവില് പോരാട്ടം നയിക്കുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്നും 1978-ല് ഡല്ഹി യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയില് നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടിയെന്നുമുള്ള നരേന്ദ്ര മോദിയുടെ അവകാശ വാദങ്ങളെ പൊളിച്ചടുക്കി ചരിത്രകാരന് രാമചന്ദ്ര ഗുഹ. 1978-ല് മോദി ബിരുദം നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില്, സ്ഥിരമായി അവകാശപ്പെടുന്നതു പോലെ അദ്ദേഹം ഒളിവിലായിരുന്നില്ല എന്നാണ് മനസ്സിലാക്കേണ്ടതെന്നും അടിയന്തരാവസ്ഥാ വിരുദ്ധ പോരാളിയും ഡല്ഹി യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ബിരുദ ധാരിയും ഒന്നിച്ച് ആവുക എന്നത് അസംഭവ്യമാണെന്നും രാമചന്ദ്ര ഗുഹ ട്വിറ്ററില് കുറിച്ചു.
ബിരുദ വിവാദത്തില് 1978-ലെ രേഖകള് പരസ്യമാക്കണമെന്ന വിവരാവകാശ പ്രവര്ത്തകര്ക്ക് അനുകൂലമായ വാര്ത്ത പങ്കുവെച്ചുകൊണ്ട് രാമചന്ദ്ര ഗുഹ കുറിച്ചതിങ്ങനെ:
‘പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശരിക്കും 1978-ല് ഡല്ഹി യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയില് നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില് 1975 മുതല് 1978 വരെ അദ്ദേഹം ഒളിവിലായിരുന്നില്ല എന്നാണര്ത്ഥം. ഒന്നുകില് അദ്ദേഹം അടിയന്തരാവസ്ഥാ പോരാളിയായിരുന്നു; അല്ലെങ്കില് ഡല്ഹി യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ബിരുദധാരി. തീര്ച്ചയായും ഇതു രണ്ടും ഒന്നിച്ചല്ല.’

If the PM modi did his studies and got degree in 1978 then he is lying about the emergency period that he criticizes so much, he is shown to have evaded the emergency and yet he's completed his degree in that time?
