അപകടത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ട 60 ലേറെ പേരെ ഇതുവരെ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തി. യാത്ര ബോട്ടില്‍ മറ്റൊരു സ്പീഡ് ബോട്ട് ഇടിച്ചതാണ് അപകടത്തിന് കാരണം. ഇടിയുടെ ആഘാതത്തില്‍ ബോട്ട് മറിയുകയായിരുന്നു.
