ജൂലൈ 8നാണ് കിണർ വൃത്തിയാക്കുന്നതിനിടെ മണ്ണിടിഞ്ഞ് തൊഴിലാളി കിണറ്റിലേക്ക് വീണത്. പഴയ റിങ്ങുകൾ മാറ്റി പുതിയവ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് തമിഴ്നാട് സ്വദേശിയായ തൊഴിലാളി മഹാരാജ് അപകടത്തിൽപ്പെട്ടത്. ഫയർ ഫോഴ്സിന്റെയും നാട്ടുകാരുടെയും നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ കിണറ്റിലെ മണ്ണ് മാറ്റുന്ന ജോലികൾ നടന്നിരുന്നു. 90 അടിയോളം താഴ്ചയുള്ള കിണറ്റിൽ 20 അടിയോളം മണ്ണ് നിറഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുകയാണ്. കിണറ്റിൽ ഇപ്പോഴും മണ്ണിടിച്ചിൽ തുടരുകയാണ്.
